The Rotted Plinth Of Sachiel Release April 9th from... that band, you know the one!
Following up their well-received, Adoration Of Decaying Innocence EP, the ridiculously named Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy are back with their first full-length album, The Rotted Plinth Of Sachiel. Comprised of nine fearsome tracks, this international duo continues on their relentless quest to test the boundaries of extreme musical creativity to breaking point and then some.
Australia based vocalist Jesse Agiomamitis and his Quebecois multi-instrumentalist partner in crime, Caleb Simard combine their forces to create brutal death metal and goregrind and move the medium into what's been described as "ever more vicious and vividly coloured deviant dioramas". Drawing heavy inspiration from the Japanese mecha anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and its pantheon of angelic invaders. Simard and Agiomamitis look at the extreme musical blueprints and rip them up, not satisfied to simply conform and colour within the lines. They take things up several notches and craft intense and mind-boggling audio assaults.
Reaching the upper limits of heavy and the outskirts of the most brutal metal imaginable, tracks such as ‘The Rose Of Jericho’ and ‘Facial Gutting’ "will open up new vistas of blood and torment to even the most hardened and experienced explorers of the extreme." If that doesn't sound like a battle cry then I don't know what does!
Forging a partnership with the iconic Stillbirth Records, Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy are set to unleash their putrid creation The Rotted Plinth Of Sachiel on April 9th, and once it's out, there is no hope to confine it again. The duo are here to show that whatever we think we know about extreme music can be altered and that there are still lessons to be learned. "When you think you have seen and heard it all your senses can still be scarred. The proof lies upon The Rotted Plinth Of Sachiel and it’s getting closer all the time."
